Petra is not an emergency service. It does not call rescuers, contact anyone on your behalf or monitor your safety. In an emergency, call the local emergency number yourself. The numbers shown in the app may be incomplete, out of date or wrong for where you are.
1. Who we are
Petra: Group Safety ("Petra") is provided by Sándor Szilágyi, [Registered address], registration number [Company registration number] ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@hernadlabs.com.
These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Petra.
2. What Petra does
Petra lets you keep an emergency card (identity, medical details, insurance, emergency contacts and next of kin), share it with the people you travel with through groups, keep group files and routes, and, during a trip, see each other's positions through trip mode. It is designed to keep working without a signal by keeping copies on your phone.
3. Not medical advice, not a guarantee
- Petra only shows the information that you and other members typed in. We do not check that it is true, complete or current.
- Petra helps a group gather and share each member's card and medical basics. It is not an official document: the card, and any scan or photo in it, does not replace a passport, identity card, driving licence, insurance card or prescription, and is not valid as one. Carry the originals.
- Nothing in the app is medical advice. First responders and medical staff must make their own judgement.
- Positions are only as accurate as the phone that recorded them, and are only shared while a group's trip mode is on. A position can be old, missing or wrong. Do not rely on Petra to find someone in danger.
- The app, the network, your phone or our servers can fail. Keep essential information (such as insurance details and medication) available in another form as well.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You may use Petra without an account. Your card then stays on this phone only and cannot be shared.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone; see the Privacy Policy for what it removes.
5. Groups
The person who creates a group is its organiser. The organiser decides who may join, when the group is active, what the group shares and whether trip mode is on, and may remove members. Deleting a group, or deleting the organiser's account, removes the group for everyone.
- Only join groups of people you know and trust. Joining shares the parts of your card the group asks for with every member.
- Other members keep an encrypted copy of what you share on their phones so it is available offline. When you leave or are removed, the app deletes it from their phones the next time they connect. Anything a member exported or copied out of the app before then is outside our control.
- Organisers must only use the group, and trip mode, for the trip it was created for, and should tell members before turning trip mode on.
6. Information about other people
When you add emergency contacts or next of kin, you share their names, phone numbers and other details with us and with your groups. Only add people who would expect to be contacted in an emergency, and tell them you have added them.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to share, including other people's documents or health information without their permission;
- use Petra to track, monitor or locate anyone without their knowledge and agreement;
- try to access data, accounts or groups that are not yours, or interfere with the service or its security;
- copy, resell or build a competing service from the app or its data.
8. Your content
What you upload stays yours. You give us the permission we need to store it, encrypt it, back it up and show it to the people you chose to share it with, only for running Petra. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that expire on their own schedule.
9. Plans and limits
- Petra has a free plan, a paid plan (Pro), and custom plans arranged with us by email. Each plan has limits, for example on the number of groups, members, contacts and storage (the free plan includes 30 MB of files). The current limits are always shown in the app, on the Your plan screen.
- The free plan is free for as long as you use it. Showing the local emergency number, your own card and trip mode are part of it.
- We may change what each plan includes. We will tell you in advance of any change that reduces a paid plan you have already bought.
10. Pro subscriptions
Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, sold through the App Store on iPhone and Google Play on Android. The store you buy through takes the payment; we never see your card details.
- Length and price: Pro is offered monthly or yearly. The price, the length of the period and the renewal date are shown in the app and in the store before you confirm, in your own currency. Prices include VAT where it applies.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. The store charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the new period starts.
- Cancelling: cancel at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings or in Google Play subscriptions. You can also open them from Manage subscription on the Your plan screen. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules, and we cannot grant or refuse them. Write to us and we will help where we can.
- Free trials and introductory offers: where one is offered, its length and what happens afterwards are shown before you confirm. If you buy a subscription while a free trial is running, the unused part of the trial ends.
- Price changes: if we change the price of a subscription you already have, Apple or Google will tell you and ask for your agreement in the way their rules require. You can cancel instead.
- When Pro ends: your account returns to the free plan. Nothing you already have is deleted. Groups, members, contacts and files above the free limits stay as they are and stay readable; you simply cannot create new ones, or upload more files, until you are back inside the free limits.
- Family sharing and multiple devices: Pro belongs to your Petra account, so it applies on every phone you sign in to. It does not extend to other people in your group.
- Withdrawal: if you are an EU or UK consumer, you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. By starting a subscription you ask for it to begin immediately and accept that this right ends once it has begun. In practice, refunds are handled by the store, as above. Your other statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
- Business plans arranged with us by email are invoiced separately and are not sold through the stores; their terms are in the quote we send you.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep Petra available but do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change or discontinue features. If we close the service, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your data.
We may update these terms. We will show you the new version in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Petra after that means you accept it.
12. Suspension and ending
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why first. You can stop using Petra and delete your account at any time.
13. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional or grossly negligent breaches, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer.
Within those limits, we are not liable for losses caused by relying on information entered by users, by inaccurate emergency numbers or positions, by the failure of your device, network or third-party services, or by events outside our reasonable control. 14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Hungary. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
